Since TTK's foundation in 1996 the business area Feasibility Studies has been one of its most important pillars. These feasibility studies prepare and support fundamental decisions for public transport projects.
Feasibility studies comprise railway projects as well as projects concerning tramways, tram-trains, underground railways, busways and bus solutions. These generally include cost-benefit-analyses (benefit cost rations and internal rate of return).
One of the essential advantages for our customers here is, on the one hand, the practical expertise of an operator here in Karlsruhe, and on the other, the collaboration in interdisciplinary teams (very often combining German and French professionals) who will be able to transfer their know-how gained in a large number of national and international projects to the customers' benefit.
Financinig new projects has become more difficult. Savings in operational cost form the basis for investment following the maxim of 'Investment instead of Subsidies'. TTK design and planning follows this approach.
