In the business field management consultancy TTK has specialised in the evaluation of organsiational structures and process optimisation for local and regional public transport operators of all sizes. Main focus is put on operational planning (e.g. vehicle circulation), duty roster planning (introduction of a duty roster complying with the staff's preferences) and on the evaluation of workshops (rail and bus).
To account for social acceptability of individual duties or whole duty rosters TTK has developed the DIAPHAN-tool. Analysis and evaluation with this tool allows a balancing of interests and improves the implementation of saving potentials in rail services.
Financial analyses aim at an optimisation of public transport supply and at a minimisation of vehicle and staff requirements.
Vehicle technology comprises questions and concepts concerning maintance of rail vehicles (BOStrab und EBO- light rail and heavy rail) as well as workshop layout and planning (also bus).
As far as the assessment of rail infrastructure is concerned the maintenance or re-opening of existing infrastructure is the focal point also taking into account any necessary measures. The question of management and maintenance of existing tracks becomes increasingly more important. Technical and economocal analyses help to identify the best way forward with their infrastructure for authorities and/or operators. Consulting in this respect also includes the provision of support to local and regional authorities concerning railway specific internal structures, processes and respective requirements (e.g. planning and railway crossing agreements).
